Royal Hideaway Corales Beach Resort, Tenerife, Spain

Tenerife, as well as other Canary Islands, are extremely popular holiday destinations, especially among European people. Tenerife alone receives about 5 million tourists annually because of its over 300 sunny days per year. I prefer Tenerife over the other Canary Islands because of its versatile landscapes: there are beautiful beaches, mountains, and national parks. Over the recent years, many gorgeous resorts and adults-only hotels have been built in the Costa Adeje region thus finding quality accommodation is not difficult. I chose the five-star Royal Hideaway Corales Beach Resort because of its beautiful design and its promise of a personalized luxury experience. It is located in La Caleta, which is a small and peaceful fishing village.

Royal Hideaway Corales Beach Resort

The resort has been awarded 2021 by the World Luxury Hotel Awards in the Luxury Architecture Design Hotel category. It was designed by a local architect called Leonardo Omar. The shape of the building resembles a boat and the interior is inspired by the island’s marine corals. It was breathtaking, and I especially liked the creative use of wood in different parts of the hotel.

You are treated with the utmost courtesy from the moment you step into the resort. At the check-in, they offered complimentary champagne and introduced the six restaurants located at the resort. They showed the locations of the pools on the map but failed to mention unfortunately the opening times of those. The hotel consists of two parts: the Corales Suites for families with children and the Corales Beach for adults only. We were able to use the amenities in both parts, which was great!

My Junior Suite

The personnel kindly offered assistance with the luggage and introduced us to the room. We had a Junior Suite with a seafront view. It was the most beautiful hotel room I have ever had the pleasure of staying in!  The bathroom with a large bathtub was open to the bedroom, but the shower and toilet were separated by glass doors. There was a wide selection of free toiletries, complimentary water as well as tea and coffee-making facilities. Every detail was immaculate.

The tones of the room were calming and it gave me the most relaxing feeling. Clearly, the walls were soundproofed since I didn't hear any noises in the room. The bed was enormous and very soft. The seating area was also spacious. In addition, I loved the wooden details on the bed and on the side table as well as the white coral-like panels. The balcony was large and perfect for sunbathing. The view was beautiful even though it was not a full sea view. The sea is actually a few minutes walk from the resort, but this didn't bother us. I wouldn't have changed anything about it!

Amazing Amenities

The first thing I wanted to do in this resort was to exercise at the gym since I was suspecting that to be a great experience – and it didn't disappoint. There was a good selection of modern equipment in a beautiful setting. Even the walkway to the wellness area was one of the most beautiful spots in the resort. The spa's reception area had the most stylish wooden fixtures and a very peaceful atmosphere.

After a great workout, nothing feels better than a swim! The pool of the wellness area was not included in the room price, but there were many other pools in the resort, two of them in the adults-only part. The roof had an amazing infinity pool and another pool was on the ground floor. Both of them had a bar and lovely lounging areas as well.

Gourmet Restaurants

Two of the restaurant (San HĂŽ and El RincĂłn de Juan Carlos) have received Michelin stars and I am sure that they offer spectacular cooking. But we opted to try The Starfish restaurant which was a bit more moderately priced. That was located on the Corales Suites side of the resort but wasn't too crowded. It had a lovely atmosphere and attentive service. The Iberian ham croquettes that we had for a starter were fantastic and the grilled tuna main was also very tasty. So it was a wonderful experience overall. Later in the evening, I stopped by the Nao restaurant as well when I heard some live guitar music. Also, Nao would have been a lovely way to spend the evening!

Breakfast was served at the Nao restaurant which had a lovely dĂ©cor. At first, one member of the staff introduced us to the buffet and there was an Ă  la carte menu also. Again the level of customer service made us feel like royalty and the quality of the dishes was fantastic. There was a great variety of local dishes in the buffet. In addition, we ordered pancakes and eggs Benedict from the menu and both were super delicious!

In Conclusion

To sum it up, we had an amazing albeit short stay at the Royal Hideaway Corales Beach Resort. It was even better than I had expected since it felt luxurious from the beginning until the end. The surrounding beauty and the warmth of the customer service made a lasting impression on us both. The personalized experience comes e.g. from the fact that the receptionist remembers your name and the staff members show interest in who the clients are. In that, they all succeeded extremely well.

The only negative thing about the stay was the fact that the pools closed at 6 pm. Since we were not informed of this, we were able to enjoy the pools for a little less time than we wanted. If our stay was longer that would not have bothered me at all of course. But this left me hoping that someday I can return to this resort and stay for many more nights! I wholeheartedly recommend this resort for even the most demanding customers and anybody who wants to experience the best of Tenerife!
